Aussie Adventure Awaits

Winter is the perfect time to get your girlfriends together and head off on a self-drive holiday. No matter where you are in Australia, there are plenty of beautiful destinations for you to explore.

Plus, holidaying in a self-contained Let’s Go motorhome or campervan means you’ll always be cosy and dry – no matter the weather.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a couple of your best friends, book a Let’s Go and take off on an incredible adventure. Here are some of our favourite winter destinations to help you plan your next girls’ trip.

River Country, Victoria

Just two and a half hours from Melbourne, you’ll find the picturesque River Country. Set on the beautiful Murry River, the River Country is a collection of beautiful border towns that offer the chance to unwind and explore everything country life has to offer. Base yourself in the townships of Echuca or Moama and visit award-winning wineries, restaurants, local produce galore and more. Plus, you can make the most of the Murray River with a cruise.

Barossa Valley, South Australia

Barossa Valley is a true delight for food and wine lovers. Just 50 minutes from Adelaide, it is home to world-class wineries, beautiful local produce and plenty of fun activities, making it a great long weekend destination. Spend the days visiting cellar doors, dining in incredible restaurants or exploring the many national parks and trails. When you’re done sightseeing, head back to your Let’s Go Motorhomes vehicle and enjoy a glass of red around the dining table or by the campfire – Let’s Go supplies outdoor chairs and tables! When it comes to places to stay, there are plenty of caravan parks in the area, so you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Gold Coast, Queensland

Make the most of sunny Queensland this winter by taking a girls’ trip on the Gold Coast. A quick trip down the road from our Brisbane branch, Gold Coast is all about sun, sand and shopping. Hit up cute cafes and trendy food spots in Mermaid Beach and Burleigh Heads, head to the Pacific Fair shopping centre for some retail therapy, or hit the beach along Surfers Paradise. With plenty of storage in the Let’s Go vehicles, you won’t be pushed for space for your shopping bags. Our top tip? Base yourself outside the hustle and bustle of Surfers and go further down the coast to one of the many caravan parks in Burleigh Heads or Currumbin.

Hunter Valley, New South Wales

Located around two hours from Sydney is the stunning Hunter Valley. Known for its vibrant wineries, bustling breweries and beautiful day spas, this is the perfect destination to switch off and pamper yourselves. Book a long weekend and make the most of this region. You can keep your campervan set up and join one of the many wine tours in the area before indulging in some stunning local produce. If you’re looking for a day spa, don’t go past Château Élan or Spa Elysia at Golden Door Health Retreat. Alternatively, pick up some local wine and cheese and enjoy a night right in your self-contained motorhome. An added benefit of travelling with Let’s Go? Every single Let’s Go campervan and motorhome comes with a fridge so you can stock up on goodies for home!

Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory

If you’re looking for a destination that boasts natural delights and scenic views galore, look no further than Litchfield National Park. Just over an hour’s drive from Darwin, Litchfield National Park is the perfect place to base yourself for a girls’ weekend away. With waterholes and waterfalls galore, you can easily kick back and enjoy the beautiful Northern Territory weather. If you’re looking for other activities in the area, there are plenty of walking tracks, tours and historical sites to visit. When it comes to waterfalls and waterholes, we can’t go past Wangi Falls, Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole.  There are also some great campgrounds in the area including Litchfield Safari Camp and Litchfield Tourist Park.

Margaret River, Western Australia

Around three hours from Perth is the not so hidden secret of the Margaret River. This local favourite is the perfect way to spend a girls’ weekend away. With award winning wineries, beautiful beaches and whale watching season, there is something for everyone. Kick off the weekend with a visit to the Farmers Market, before spending the day visiting cellar doors, restaurants and breweries. Wrap up the day with a visit to Surfer’s Point at Prevelly to watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean. When night falls, kick up your feet and enjoy a meal around the campfire. Plus, winter is a great time to experience the whale migration. Humpback, Southern Right, Minke and Blue Wales all make the epic journey from Antarctica to the warmer waters of Australia, and Augusta, just a 30-minute drive from Margaret River, is one of the best places to see them.
