Perth Wildflowers – Things To Do

perth wildflower season

The largest wildflower collection on earth is about to spring to life! The colours are explosive and they cover the state from coast to forest, from town to country. Vibrant wildflowers bloom in contrast to the red soil plains and the deep blue ocean with more than 12,000 species coming alive, up to 60% of which you will only see here in WA.

The six month flowering season starts in June/July in the north, around the Pilbara and Coral Coast area and by September, the wildflower explosion has hit the Perth Botanical Gardens, before the wave of colour heads to the South West through October and November.

Make sure you time your trip to be in Perth in September and spend some time in Kings Park and the Botanical Gardens. The Kings Park Festival celebrates “Where the Wildflowers Are!” from 1-30 September every year.

Download the Wildflower Guide to find the best locations and the rarest wildflowers, and start planning your trip around WA so that you can see as much of this amazing floral experience as you possible.
