Essential items to take on a motorhome trip

essential-items-to-take-travel

We all know that one of the least fun parts about a road trip is knowing what to pack. One of the perks of travelling in a motorhome or campervan is the added space you have to store all the things you might need. Plus, all of our vehicles come fully equipped with essential items such as cooking equipment, crockery and linen.

However, there are a few added extras you may want to bring along to make life on the road a little more comfortable. To give you a hand, we’ve collated a handy checklist of things you might want to take on your next motorhome or campervan trip.

Entertainment and activities

Whether you need to entertain little ones or adults, it is always a good idea to have a range of things on hand. From a tabley packed with TV shows and movies, to good old board games and playing cards, make sure you’re always prepared for fun – especially if the weather turns. It is also good to consider bringing equipment for outdoor activities, like fishing rods, footballs and bocce. One thing you don’t need to think about bringing is a bike. With Let’s Go Motorhomes, you can arrange for a bike hire alongside your booking – no excuses not to hit the trails and explore new areas.

Food

While we always encourage customers to get out and make the most of local food spots while on the road, it is always a good idea to stock up on food and drinks before you head off on your trip. With kitchenettes in all our vans, it will be easy for you to cook up a feast or just prepare an easy snack. We recommend packing plenty of snacks for while you’re driving plus goodies so you can whip up a fancy cheese plate to consume while relaxing in the van after a day of adventure. To make things a little easier for you, we have a partnership with Coles Online which means you can order your groceries online and one of our team will pop them into the van ahead of your pick up – no more battling the supermarket line when you arrive at your destination.

Clothes for every season

There’s nothing worse than hitting the road only to realise the weather has turned and you forgot to bring you winter woollies. This is why we suggest bringing along a range of clothing options for every season. Even if you’re going to the tropics, make sure to bring along a jumper and pants. Similarly, if you’re heading to a cooler part of the country still pack your swimwear – you never know when you might come across a heated pool or spa!

Toiletries

A packing essentials list is not complete without toiletries! Make sure to pack all the bathroom essentials you need when you’re away. Some added extras we recommend packing are medications like Panadol and Nurofen, Hydralyte, Cold & Flu tablets, hay fever tablets and any medications for the kids. We would also suggest bringing a small first aid kit, as you never know when an emergency might arise.

Electronics and chargers

The final thing to remember is any chargers for your electronic devices including phones, cameras, tablet, laptop and GoPro. You don’t want to arrive at your destination only to realise your phone is flat and you don’t have a charger.
