10 best things about travelling in a motorhome

10-best-things-travelling-in-motorhome

We might be a little biased, but when it comes to self-drive holidays, there are so many things we love about travelling in a motorhome.

From the freedom of being able to pack up and roam from town to town without a strict schedule (aside from caravan park bookings), to being able to take in incredible views every night from your home on wheels, there are so many incredible advantages to holidaying in a motorhome.

In this blog, we’ve covered off 10 of the best things about travelling in a motorhome.

  1. Motorhomes come fully equipped with just about everything you need – including the kitchen sink!

One of best things about travelling in a motorhome is that they come equipped with a full kitchenette, including a sink, stove and refrigerator. At Let’s Go Motorhomes, larger vehicles also feature a grill, and our smaller campervans come with a small kitchenette, so cooking while on the road is an absolute breeze! It also helps make the trip a little more cost effective as you can cook meals at home, and you have a nice fridge to store groceries in so you don’t need to worry about food spoiling in an esky. We even provide all of your kitchen utensils and equipment, crockery, linen and outdoor table and chairs so you only have to bring yourself!

  1. There is minimal set upJayco-2+1-Escape

We’ve all been there – the sinking feeling of pulling up to a caravan park at the end of a long day travelling only to realise you still need to set up your campsite. When you’re travelling in a motorhome, there is only a feeling of relief knowing you can drive into your site, put on the hand brake, wind out the awning and kick your feet up with a drink with your travel companions,

  1. You have access to your own toilet and showerVoyager-Deluxe-Interior-Kitchen

There are few things worse than waking up in the middle of the night, desperate for the toilet just to remember it’s 200 metres away and its pouring with rain. This isn’t an issue with the Let’s Go. Our larger motorhomes (2 Berth Escape and above) come equipped with a shower and toilet. This also comes in super handy after a day of exploring – you can pop into the van and have a quick rinse without traipsing all the way to a shower block.

  1. You can sleep anywhere (legal!)Interior-Voyager-Deluxe-Bedroom

Another one of our favourite parts about travelling in a motorhome is the fact that you can sleep anywhere – as long as it is legal. From caravan parks to beautiful beach side spots, they are all accessible with a motorhome, so the sky’s limit, giving you greater options and more spontaneity.

  1. They are easy to drive

A common misconception about travelling in a motorhome is that they are difficult to drive or park, however this couldn’t be further from the truth! Our customers describe it as similar to driving a medium sized van, so you don’t need any extra skill like you do when towing a caravan. There is also no need for a special licence – just jump in and go. If you’re confused or need assistance, we have a blog about licence requirements for domestic and international travellers.

  1. Storage galoreJayco-Escape-Interior-Kitchen

Another perk of travelling in a motorhome is just how much storage they offer. There are so many hidden nooks and crannies in a motorhome, you’ll be hard pressed to fill every cupboard! Another benefit, unlike camping in a tent or getting on a plane, is that you can pack up everything into cupboards before you head off – no worrying about bulky suitcases or excess baggage fees.

  1. You don’t have to worry about the weather

Avoid the fear of rainy days and having to entertain your kids while stuck in a tent. With a motorhome you’ll say warm and cosy no matter the weather. Our motorhomes also come equipped with a heater, TV and multiple power points so you can keep the devices fully charged while keeping warm. Did someone say a rainy-day movie day? It is also helpful in the warmer months, where you can utilise the aircon and not have to worry about sweltering through the night.

  1. You can truly enjoy nature

Holidaying in a motorhome allows you to fully experience the outdoors. From meals under the awning, to hitting up bike trails or enjoying the beach, a motorhome gives you endless options when it comes to outdoor activities. We offer bike hire at Let’s Go Motorhomes, and outdoor table and chairs comes as standard.

  1. There are plenty of different size options

No more stressing about where everyone will sleep – there are a number of different motorhome or campervan options that will suit almost every family. At Let’s Go, we have vehicles that sleep anywhere from one person to six.

  1. Motorhome holidays are a true bonding experience10-best-things-travelling-in-motorhome

Finally, the best thing that a motorhome holiday offers is a bonding experience with your loved ones. From nights playing games around the dining table, to getting out and exploring the great outdoors, you will be able to spend a lot of quality time together and truly make the most of the unique experience.
