This is one of the most unique farms in the world – there are over 500 fruits from all over the world all in the one place. It started as a tropical fruit research station back in 1937 and sits on the richest of rich red soil, ideally suited for tropical fruits.
There is so much to do here. You will start at the Plantation Pavilion where there is a vast array of fruit as well as an ice cream bar, juice bar and skin care shop call Tropicology.
From there, you can do a plantation safari, a wildlife boat cruise, visit the fauna park or hit the island and ride the miniature train. On the island, you’ll find a recreation area, playground, lush green lawn areas and large shady gum trees. You can also play mini golf and ride a flying fox.
But the highlight of your visit to Tropical Fruit World will be the fruit tasting. You will be served up a wide array of seasonal fruits – from sweet and sour to juicy or creamy. You haven’t lived until you have tasted ice cream bean and champagne fruit!
Tropical Fruit World is open daily from 10am to 4pm. Fruit tasting sessions commence at:
10.20am, 11.20am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Departure times for the plantation tours vary but fit in between the fruit tasting sessions.
