Let's Go Motorhomes

Bowral | NSW

Bowral, in the Southern Highlands of NSW, is one of the most beautiful country towns you will ever visit.

Every Australian knows Bowral because it is the birth place of our greatest sportsman (yes, unlike other greats we claim such as Phar Lap, Sir Donald was actually born in Australia!). The main attraction in Bowral, at least for sports lovers or lovers of Australian icons, is the Bradman Centre, which includes both the Bradman Museum and the International Cricket Hall of Fame.

The Bradman Centre features fantastic historical displays and stories combined with cutting edge technology. Its goal is to promote cricket not just to cricket lovers but to everyone who loves sport or just those who want to know more about our greatest champion. For more information visit their website.

You can also do the Bradman Walk, which is free and starts at the magnificent Bowral Cricket Ground (now known as Bradman Oval), probably the most picturesque cricket ground in the world.

There is something for everyone in the Southern Highlands, even if you don’t like cricket!

September sees Tulip Time, one of Australia’s leading Floral Festivals, come to town, closely followed by the Southern Highlands Food and Wine Festival. Here you will find the town’s Corbett Gardens overflowing with entertainment, pop up restaurants, food and wine tastings, cooking classes and demonstrations. In November, the region hosts the Southern Highlands Art Festival, showcasing the creative heartbeat of the region.

The rest of the year is full of events from “A Grand Day Out” events to horse shows, farm tours and the monthly markets.

Unfortunately, none of our caravan park partners have parks in Bowral, but you will find some options here.

In our opinion, it’s a two night visit, three if you love cricket and take your time at the museum, or take in a cricket match at the Bradman Oval, which we highly recommend, even if you don’t love cricket!
